Brain tumor resection using intra-operative MRI neurosurgical suite can let the operators know that whether everything is going as planned at any moment.When the neurosurgeons has resected the brain tumor,they can real-time check with this machine to be sure that the entire tumor has been removed and no fragment is left.

In the webcast of or-live,Dr.Desaloms showed us this surgical procedure.He was operating on a patient of glioma.He said that in contrast with the 5-6 hours conventional operations,the operation with intra-operative MRI suite cost only about an hour.We can see that this "BrainSUITE" can let neurosurgeons know all the important datas about the brain's condition during surgery,increase the precision and accuracy of the surgery,and decrease the probilities of reoperation.

And they say that in one study using this technology,36% surgical procedures that initially considered complete were continued in order to remove residual tumor tissue.
